Perfect example of why I have been eating alone. Usually I can count on my corporate cafeteria for grilled chicken and veggies. Today was a little more challenging. I really wanted some warm veggies! Instead they were serving chicken parmesan with corn or sweet potatoes. The other choice was some pasta stir fry dish. Basically not choices for me! As I am standing there trying to decide if I should get the stir fry without pasta, I noticed the gentleman next to me looked equally disappointed in today’s selections. After about a 30 second pause, he shakes his head, walks away, and announces “I can’t do it.” His lunch partner looks disappointed and says “why, it looks good?” He rubs his belly that is hanging over his belt and whispers, “I can’t, I am on a diet.” I immediately cheer to myself, way to go stranger! Stand up for your health! Don’t give into this floor crusted, fried, chicken smothered in cheese on top of a bed of PASTA! His lunch partner is not as encouraging as me and she is actually speaking out loud versus cheering in her head. She says, just divide it in half and eat the rest tonight. WHAT? Unfortunately, that was convincing enough for him to order a plate.
