Pilates Coach Michelle Wade

Pilates Coach Michelle WadeWhere are you from?
I was born in New Jersey, was raised there, in Toronto and in Roswell.
Where did you go to school, and did you play any sports?
I attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) and played lacrosse.
How long have you been with TFR?
Since the beginning, I taught at the Grand Opening!
What’s your favorite class to train?
PILATES! I love teaching pilates because it is adaptable for everybody (men, women, injuries, etc) and it really works.  So many of my clients swear by pilates because of its numerous benefits; some clients use pilates to enhance their strength training/running/golf, others because it has alleviated their chronic back pain, gotten their pre-baby body back, whittled their waist, lengthened out their muscles, improved posture, helped them regain strength after injury….I could go on and on and on!
What’s your funniest client story?
Hmmm, my clients are a fun group! One evening in a particularly full class we were doing kneeling side kicks and one of my most loyal clients kicked my husband in the face (he was behind her), she was stunned and the first thing out of my mouth was “It’s okay! That’s just my husband!” Oops, sorry Sam! I also enjoyed when I went on maternity leave and Samantha aka “Sam” was filling in for me and so many people thought my husband Sam was just going to cover….though I’d LOVE to see that 🙂
What’s an example of a healthy, lunch and dinner?
I love a good salad for lunch but lately I’ve been addicted to wraps. I use an organic wrap and fill it with hummus, avocado, lots of spinach, turkey, cheese and mustard, if I am feeling extra motivated I’ll heat it on the stove.  For dinner chicken/salmon, sweet potato and salad!  I could probably live off of sweet potatoes, quinoa, kale and chocolate…and wine.
What motivates you?
I have found that when I am healthy and fit I can better enjoy every part of my life.  Now I have the additional motivation of being happy and healthy for my baby boy and strong so I can lift him and his car seat and the giant jogging stroller!  I know as he gets older I’ll want to be able keep up with him.  I also find that when I don’t get as much sleep as I need exercising gives me the energy I need to get through the day!
