Boot camp classes are extremely popular these days, and for good reason! With all of the other fitness options, boot camps continue to be on top. Boot camps challenge individuals and it encourages participants to find their own immense strength.
Many people are finding these programs to be extremely beneficial because the rigorous workouts are efficient and burn a lot of calories. Burning calories is very important when a person is trying to lose weight, however, if you were just walking along on the treadmill you would need to work out for over an hour every day to burn around 250 calories.
Boot camp classes are typically 30 – 45 minutes and you use your entire body with a variety of different exercises such as push-ups, squats, jumping rope, sprints, planks, etc and you can burn up to 600 calories in half the time that you would spend on the treadmill. That’s quite a difference right?
During Boot Camp class you will more than likely work out muscle groups you never even knew you had! These classes will build muscle and increase the person’s metabolism – this is so important when trying to get in shape and get toned because the more muscle you have and the better your metabolism is, the more calories and fat you will burn throughout the day, even on your rest days.
There are also great social aspects to being involved in a boot camp program. Going through such rigorous exercise programs with other people can be an incredible bonding experience, and many people form some great friendships while going through a boot camp program.
